For my main book project in Book Arts I'm in the final stages of prep. I have already made the main book ends and sorted out the paper sizes. For my theme of seasons I wanted to take advantage oby using both sides of the concertina folder paper to enhance a seasonal feel throughout the book. With each season my plan is to create a abstract concept piece on one side of the paper through colour and texture and on the other side have a simple illustration of a small girl walking through each season.
For the girl idea I was looking for quite a specific style and I wanted to gather a lot of inspiration to keep my options open so I could create a character who was simple, mysterious but also contained the innocene I held as a child when I apprechiated the different weather and had a certain curiosity around it all.
I plan on going through many of the illustration books that I own to gather inspiration but I also happened to stumble upon a lovely image which I really apprechiated and feel has really inspired me for this project.
